Hello Bridlewood School Parents/Guardians,
Please read on for this week’s information and updates.
Family Literacy Week
Families across Calgary are invited to join the Calgary Board of Education in celebrating Family Literacy Week from Jan. 26 to Feb. 2, with a focus on environmental learning through the theme “Learn to Be Green, Together.”
The CBE Literacy & Early Learning Team has prepared a variety of information and activities to help families engage in meaningful learning at home and at school. Reading together or doing learning activities at home is crucial to a child’s learning and development.
Here’s how families can participate:
- CBE At-Home Activities & Resources
- Find ways to make learning fun and impactful.
- Calgary Public Library Family Game Time Participate in interactive games designed to strengthen literacy skills and family bonds.
- Since 1999, schools, libraries, literacy organizations and other community groups across Canada have taken part in Family Literacy Day which takes place every Jan. 27
Report Cards and Individualized Program Plans
Reminder that the first of two formal kindergarten/student report cards will be visible to families on January 27 through your MyCBE accounts. Individualized Program Plans will be sent home this week as well. These should be reviewed with the report card.
In both cases of Report Cards and IPPs, parents/guardians are encouraged to contact teachers to offer feedback and address any questions and concerns.
Reminder: report cards are printed and sent in hard copy only on request.
