Hello Bridlewood Parents and Guardians,
Please read on for this week's updates.
Federal Election
Bridlewood School is a designated polling station for the Federal Election taking place on Monday April 28. The station is open to voters from 7:30AM - 7:30PM.
Pedestrian Safety
Please note that polling will result in increased vehicular and pedestrian traffic throughout the day. As always, be mindful of safety when dropping off and picking up your children. Students and adults are reminded to walk to the designated crossing areas.
A reminder from the City of Calgary:
People walking must
- ENSURE you are crossing the street safely, at a corner or intersection.
- WATCH OUT for turning vehicles and traffic that may not see you or has not stopped yet.
- MAKE eye contact with drivers, if possible, and wave.
- STAY ALERT, do not text or talk on your phone while crossing the street.
- DO NOT jaywalk or cross the street from between parked vehicles.
Library School
Ms. Cutting’s Grade 2 class will attend Library School this week. Ms. Jen’s Grade 2 students attended last week, and Ms. Tanya’s class will attend next week. Ms. Lam’s Grade 2 students are taking part in groups alongside their friends in the other three classes.
Library School is one of several different innovative curriculum-based programs offered in collaboration with Campus Calgary/Open Minds that moves the classroom into the community for an entire week. Thank you to our Grade 2 teachers and the many volunteers who are helping make this incredibly memorable experience possible for the students. Gratitude is also extended to our amazingly generous Bridlewood School Council and Society. Through the efforts of the committed folks who serve on these teams and volunteers along the way, our students can take part in activities like Library School at little to no additional cost to their families.
Connecting with Teachers and Administration at Bridlewood School
At Bridlewood School, we believe that student success is built on a strong partnership between families and our dedicated school team. If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to reach out directly to your child’s teacher. In many cases, the best solutions are found at the classroom level, where open communication can help address any issues.
If necessary, you are also welcome to contact Chris or Joanne. Along with our team, we are committed to working collaboratively with you, always keeping student learning and well-being as our top priorities.
Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting your child’s education!
Reflecting on the Tragic Event at the Lapu-Lapu Day Festival Vancouver
What happened Saturday evening in Vancouver is heartbreaking. Even though it may feel far away, moments like this remind us just how fragile and precious life really is. To any of our families who might be directly impacted, our hearts are with you. And to all of us — let us take a moment to hold our loved ones a little closer tonight.
Best thoughts to all,
Chris, Joanne, and the Team at Bridlewood School
