Hello Bridlewood School Families
Please read on for this week's updates.
Community Building (Spirit) Week at Bridlewood School
As we prepare for the Winter Break, our grade 6 student leadership team has been working alongside Ms. Steeves, Ms. Oluyole, and Ms. Barge to prepare a week full of exciting opportunities for students and staff to gather with one another. The events are listed here:
Monday – Hot Chocolate for all! Warming our tummies and our hearts as we join our buddy classes for a few minutes of friendship and togetherness.
Tuesday – Pattern Day! Students and staff are encouraged to wear clothing that features a pattern of some kind. For example, stripes, plaid, polka dots, zig zags, etc.
Wednesday – Another uplifting opportunity for students and staff to come together. This time we will join for a winter sing-along in the gathering space. Students are invited to wear a cozy sweater, festive hat, headband, socks etc. For students who prefer not to join the singing, alternative activities such as colouring, puzzles, and quiet games will be offered in the gymnasium.
Thursday – Students and staff are invited to wear cozy clothing such as PJs. Students are reminded to leave their stuffies and special blankets at home.
Friday – Snowman STEM challenge! Working in small groups with their buddy classes, students will use a variety of materials to build a sled for a snowman. Our day on Friday will open with a whole school assembly where the challenge will be revealed.
Gratitude
Thank you to Bridlewood School Council for the beautiful spread of treats you provided for the staff on Thursday, December 12. Our staff did a fantastic job of ensuring that no crumb was left unconsumed! We understand our Council’s efforts are intended to encourage staff and show appreciation. In turn we express our appreciation and gratitude to you.
Fun Snack
Thursday December 19 is Fun Snack Day at Bridlewood School. This week’s snack comes from the Saucy Bread Company. For more information on how you can involve your student, please go to the Bridlewood School Website, Healthy Hunger. This is where you can register your student and sign them up to participate in the Fund Lunch/Snack program.
Friday December 20 is the last day of school before the Winter Break. Classes will resume on January 6, 2025.
