Hello Bridlewood School Families,
Please read on for this week's updates
Self-Management
Our School Development Plan for 2024-2025 is posted on the Bridlewood School Website. This document outlines two key areas for student growth and professional learning. These goals focus on helping students improve their ability to convey messages and ideas through written expression and students improve their understanding and skills to self-manage (regulation and problem solving are included in this category). Attached to this message are two documents, one of which includes a graphic of the CASEL framework which provides a touchstone of our approach and includes bulleted points describing what is intended under the category of Self-Management. The second document Enhancing and Practicing Executive Functioning Skills provides information on how to help children and young people develop executive functioning skills (regulation and impulse control) through engaging activities such as playing games. To learn more about how we can work together to bring social emotional learning to our students watch this short video presented by the CASEL organization.
