Pink Shirt Day is Wednesday, February 28
Pink Shirt Day is on Wednesday, February 28. All staff and students are encouraged to wear pink or close to pink shirts on this day. The grade three teachers and students as well as Mrs. Fatica have planned an assembly for our school for this day. Families are welcome to attend. The assembly will begin at 10:15 on Wednesday morning in the school gymnasium.
Ever Active Schools Active and Safe Routes to School
The grade sixes have been working with The Active & Safe Routes to School program (ASRS). In partnership with Ever Active Schools (EAS), the program aims to increase the number of students using active and sustainable modes of travel for all or part of their journey to school. As a part of this work our liasion with ASRS will be onsite on Monday, February 26 to do a walk about around the community to provide representatives from the City of Calgary’s Councilor McLean’s office, the City’s Mobility Safety Team as well as our school trustee Nancy Close an opportunity to learn about some of the travel issues facing students and families. The walkabout will be a pre-determined route and will begin at 2:15 and will last for around one hour. Anyone open to productive conversations about making the school area safer and easier to travel is welcome to join. The group will meet outside of the school’s front doors at 2:15 on Monday. The walkabout will take place regardless of the weather, so dress to stay warm and dry!
