Hello Bridlewood Parents/Guardians
Please read on for this week’s information and updates.
Student Learning Conferences
Online Student Learning Conferences, using the Microsoft Teams application, are scheduled for March 20 4:00-7:00PM and March 21 8:00AM -12:30PM. Please use your MyCBE account to book your 15 minute online conference. The Conference Manager tool will open on March 14 at 4:00PM.
Student Conferences provide time and space for families to have conversations with teachers specific to their child’s progress and achievement in relation to the intended learning goals. During these conferences, teachers share evidence of individual student progress and achievement (e.g., student work assessed against established criteria, student reflections) with families.
Worth a Look
Raising Digitally Resilient Kids - The Raising Digitally Resilient Kids parent workshop outlines how parents and guardians can support children’s well-being and help them balance the risks and benefits of digital media. Based on insights from MediaSmarts’ research with youth, the workshop provides an overview of online risk categories and provides resources and essential strategies that participants can take to manage these risks.
Friday March 14 STEM Challenge Day at Bridlewood
This will be our third STEM challenge for the 2024-2025 school year. The event includes a morning assembly where students learn about their latest challenge. Following the assembly multi-age student teams gather materials and collaborate to solve the problem. STEM events are a highlight at Bridlewood. They bring us together as a community, engaging our minds and hearts through hands on creative challenges.
Traffic and Pedestrian Safety
Traffic, pedestrian, and parking reminders were highlighted in last week's update. Please share this information with caregivers (relatives, or parents/guardians who do not receive school messenger) who might be dropping off and picking up students so that they too can can help us look out for each other.
PLEASE park your vehicle, and accompany or direct your children to use the marked/monitored crosswalk. Dodging traffic with children in hand is extremely dangerous.
Parking
- AVOID blocking driveways.
- Do not park within five metres of a marked crosswalk or intersection (backing into a crosswalk is not only very dangerous, it is also illegal).
- Turn your car off when parked
Wishing everyone a good week ahead,
Chris, Joanne and the team at Bridlewood School
