Please see This Week at Bridlewood below – Outdoor School and STEAM Challenge for a peek at two of the great activities our students were involved in last week.
Grade 6 Outdoor School March 10-13, 2025
Many of our Grade 6 students attended YMCA Camp Chief Hector Outdoor School from Monday through Thursday this week. This four day, three night experience involved students in learning activities to build upon curricular outcomes in Science, Social Studies, and Physical Education and Wellness.
Friday Buddy Bench STEAM Challenge
On Friday Morning, students were involved in our third STEAM challenge of this school year. As always, the STEAM problem solving challenge was introduced through a great book to help activate empathy and design thinking. This time, the book The Buddy Bench by Patty Bozo and Mike Deas, presented the idea of creating a space where students can go to signal to others to ask them to play. Students worked in multi-age teams to design and create a model of a buddy bench, taking into consideration the importance of both form and function.
Have an excellent week ahead.
