Dear BWS families,

Welcome to March and a snowy weekend. Here are your weekly updates:

Pink Shirt Day Assembly

Thank you to the Grade Three Team, Mrs. Fatica and students for the engaging and powerful assembly, held on Wednesday, February 28th recognizing Pink Shirt Day. Students have participated in various activities throughout the year and especially during the month of February to spread the message of anti-bullying. Bridlewood School strives and encourages everyone to be inclusive, welcoming and supportive by building positive and healthy relationships with one another.

Thank you to Bridlewood families coming and taking part in learning about and spreading the message of Pink Shirt Day.

Student-Led Conferences

Student-led conferences are scheduled for Thursday, March 21 (Grades 1 to 6 in the evening; K during the day and in the evening) and Friday, March 22. Student-led conferences are an opportunity for students to share and celebrate their learning and next steps with their parents and guardians. More detailed information about signing up will be shared next week.

Volunteering at CBE through School Engage

Parents and guardians are now able to register to volunteer online in the School Engage tab in their MyCBE account. Members of the community without a child in the system can also create a School Engage account to utilize this program. Once volunteers have created an account they can request and receive their volunteer letter required to obtain their police security clearance. There are no changes at this time to the ePIC application and payment process which is outlined on the CBE Volunteer InSite page and managed by the Calgary Police Service. Once volunteers have their police information check and vulnerable sector clearance document it can be uploaded and shared directly with the school through the SchoolEngage account. Our office is currently working on a step by step guide to help with this process which will be sent out next week.
