Hello Bridlewood School Parents/Guardians,

Our first few days back at school were all about re-connecting, reassuring, and refocusing. I was so encouraged by the friendliness and joy that filled our building as students greeted one another, their teachers, and the rest of our staff — including me!

As we regain our stride, we continue to move forward with care and purpose. At this point, there are no foreseeable changes to our calendar, and our focus remains clear: meeting students where they are, supporting their well-being, and nurturing their academic growth.

We had a great morning on Friday, with many students and staff choosing to celebrate Halloween by wearing fun costumes or black and orange clothing. Everyone gathered in the gym for an assembly to listen to the story of Creepy Carrots and learn about the STEM challenge. Students then joined buddy teams to figure out how to use four jumbo popsicle sticks and eight clothespins to build a fence that would keep the “creepy carrots” from escaping the garden. Teachers enjoyed offering ideas to add extensions and complexity to the problem, keeping our young engineers on their toes!

Remembrance Day

On November 11, people across Canada pause to honour those who have served our country in times of war, conflict, and peacekeeping. On Friday, November 7, starting at 10:45 a.m., we will come together as a school community to mark Remembrance Day. Parents/guardians are invited to join us.

Remembrance Day helps us reflect on courage, kindness, and the importance of peace. At Bridlewood, we will take time to listen, to remember, and to appreciate the freedoms we enjoy. As we wear our poppies and stand in silence together, we join Canadians everywhere in saying:  Lest we forget.

Students who participate in service clubs are encouraged to wear their uniforms to school on Friday. Poppies will be distributed at school, and students may wish to bring a small donation for the Poppy Fund.

Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support.

Yours,

Chris Buhler, Principal
