Hello Bridlewood Families,
As you take a moment to read this week’s updates and reminders, the staff at BridlewooOct d School and I want to express appreciation for the many ways our families contribute to the Bridlewood community. The partnership between home and school helps create a welcoming place where students feel supported, valued, and ready to learn. We are grateful to be part of this community and to walk alongside you in your student’s learning and growth.
Video Surveillance System
Our school now has a video surveillance system to help maintain a safe and secure environment at the school for students, staff, and the public, and to help address vandalism and criminal activity on school property.
The video surveillance system is installed and reviewed in accordance with Administrative Regulation 1066. Personal information is collected under the authority of the Education Act and the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA), specifically section 10(1) and the Access to Information Act (ATIA).
This technology is placed in areas that include the school parking lot, compound, building entrances, and exits. Information is recorded and collected to help maintain a safe and secure environment around the perimeter of the school. The users of this information are the principal, assistant principal, and law enforcement personnel in the case of reported incidents that would require an investigation. Only authorized persons will review video surveillance information.
Inquiries concerning the video surveillance system, or the collection and use of recorded information may be made by contacting the school office.
Individualized Program Plans (IPPs)
Teachers have been sharing the first drafts of Individualized Program Plans (IPPs) with families over the past week and will continue to do so this week. We encourage parents and guardians to connect with their student’s teacher to review the plan together, share any additional information, and ask questions.
Signing the IPP confirms that you have reviewed the plan and acknowledge the information it contains.
IPPs are developed for students who meet the criteria for an identified exceptionality.
CBE Student Surveys
Each year, Calgary Board of Education (CBE) students are invited to participate in surveys that gather feedback about their learning experiences, well-being, engagement, and school environment. Survey results help schools and the CBE evaluate programs, inform planning, and identify opportunities to better support student success and well-being.
The CBE Student Survey is an anonymous, voluntary online perception survey administered twice during the school year. A shorter set of questions is administered in the fall, while the spring survey contains the full complement of questions.
Fall Administration: CBE Well-Being Student Survey Grades 4-12 | October-November
Topics may include:
- School connectedness and belonging
- Positive relationships

- Students may skip any question they do not wish to answer.
- Students may stop participating at any time without consequence.
