Stay Informed

Dear Bridlewood Parents & Guardians,

Here are a few important reminders and updates for the week ahead.

Professional Learning Day – Monday, October 19

There are no classes for students on Monday, October 19, as staff will be participating in a Professional Learning Day. Our focus will be on developing instructional approaches and assessment practices to support student learning and well-being.

Security – Lockdown Practice Drill

On Tuesday, October 20, Bridlewood School will practise a lockdown drill, as required for all CBE schools. Similar to fire drills, lockdown drills help us become familiar with the procedures outlined in our school’s Emergency Response Plan, which are developed in collaboration with the Calgary Police Service.

The drill will take place between approximately 10:00 and 10:30 a.m.

During the drill:

  • No one will be permitted to enter or leave the school building.
  • A continuous bell may be heard outside the building. This signal is used to notify people outside that the school is in an internal lockdown.
  • If students are outside, they will gather with their teacher or supervisor and proceed to our off-site muster point.

We approach these practice drills with care and sensitivity, ensuring students understand the procedures in an age-appropriate way. Practising helps students and staff become familiar with the steps to follow should an actual emergency occur.

If you have questions about lockdown drills or procedures, please visit the Security page on the Bridlewood School website or contact the principal.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to prioritize a safe school environment for our students and staff.

School Council and Fundraising Society Meetings

Our next Parent Council and Fundraising Society meetings will take place on Tuesday, October 20, from 6:30–8:00 p.m. Parents and guardians can participate online or in person at the school.

Please watch for the meeting agendas and online meeting link, which will be sent Tuesday morning.

We appreciate the time, energy, and support our parent and guardian community contributes to Bridlewood!
