Hello Bridlewood School Parents/Guardians,
Please take a moment to read this week's updates.
Staffing Updates
The release of our fall funding allocations has made it possible for us to add staff to the Bridlewood School learning team. Teacher, Jody Waldeck, will join us starting Monday, October 25. Jody will work part-time providing additional support in literacy and mathematics for students in Grade 2. At the same time, Nancy Steeves will provide similar support to our Grade 3 classes while maintaining her position as Resource Teacher. We are also pleased to secure additional hours for Educational Assistants (EAs). This will include the hiring of two additional EAs who will each provide 20 hours per week of support. With these changes and additions, we will have 170 hours per week of EA support, allowing us to provide intentional support to more students and classrooms.
We are expecting to see Ms. Skunta back at school on Monday. Ms. Zhang who has been teaching the grade 4 students, and Ms. Skunta will have an opportunity to work together on Monday to help ensure a smooth transition.

Professional Learning
The teaching team at Bridlewood appreciated the opportunity to work together on Friday to identify goals, actions, and outcomes for our 2024-2025 School Development Plan. Included in this work was time spent learning universal strategies to promote academic, social, and language learning in diverse classrooms.
Wishing you lovely weekend,
Chris, Joanne and the team at Bridlewood School
