Hello Bridlewood Families,
Gratitude for a Great Start!
Huge thanks are extended to everyone at Bridlewood School for helping us get off to a fantastic start to the 2024-2025 school year.
Gratitude is extended to our:
- Teachers and Educational Assistants for the thoughtfulness with which they organized their classes and warmly welcomed students into their new learning spaces.
- Office staff, Ms. Knott, and Ms. Sharp, for answering phone calls, assisting with registrations, ensuring accurate and timely distribution of supplies, and planning lunchroom routines!
- Lunchroom staff for taking care of students during the lunch meal and play times.
- Facility Operator and custodial team for ensuring our building is beautifully maintained.
- Library assistant for preparing our system and space for students to explore the wonders that live within the pages of our collection.
- Parents/guardians. Your support is integral as we work together to ensure student success and a sense of belonging and connectedness.
- Students, whose enthusiasm, energy, and laughter inspire and challenge us to do our absolute best to help them learn and grow!
We are really looking forward to the next weeks in school as we get to know one another as learners and friends within a welcoming and inclusive community. Please read on for some important updates.

Traffic Safety
Drop off and pick up like a pro
- Keep Crosswalks clear – park at least 5metres from the crosswalk
- Wait until crosswalks are completely clear prior to proceeding.
- Avoid J-walking. Use the designated crosswalks
- Be an early bird and arrive early: Planning your time and arriving a few minutes early can help you find parking without rushing.
- Please avoid parking inside the traffic calming curb located at the crosswalk. This curb was placed in that location to provide a protected, visible space to wait before crossing.
Personal Mobile Devices and Social Media Use in Schools
Mobile Device Policy for Students
Our “Away for the Day” policy for students indicates:
- No use of personal mobile devices during school day
- Devices brought to school must be out of sight and either powered off or set to silent
- Social media sites will be blocked on CBE networks and devices
- Some students may be allowed to use personal mobile devices for specific health, educational or specialized learning needs
Ongoing Communication
Effective communication is key to the kind of teamwork that helps children/students meet with success in school. If you have a question or concerns, you are encouraged to:
- First, speak to your child/student's teacher. In most cases, a solution can be found at the classroom level.
- If the issue remains unresolved after speaking with the teacher, please contact Mrs. Buhler (Principal) or Ms. Lambrinoudis (Assistant Principal).
Bridlewood Weekly Update e-mail: You will receive a weekly update email from the administration sent via School Messenger. Please look for this in your e-mail on Friday afternoons. School Messenger will also be used to distribute other important information as needed.
Bridlewood School Website: Our goal is to publish the weekly updates and other valuable information on the website. Please bear with us as we are still building out parts of the site. Families are reminded that our website should be the first point of information updates.
Communicating with teachers: E-mail is an effective way to contact teachers. Please note that teachers check emails first thing in the morning, at noon, and after school. Response to e-mails will come either before or after the school day. It is expected that teachers respond to emails within two days of receipt.
If there is time-sensitive information, please call the school office at 403-777-6259, where Ms. Knott or Ms. Sharp will ensure the message is relayed.
Birthday Treats and Celebrations
This year at Bridlewood School, we will celebrate every child/student’s birthday by giving them a small gift from the office. Thank you to our School Council for suggesting this idea! As such, we respectfully ask that families do not send birthday treats, including cake, cupcakes, cookies or treat bags, to school. They can become a distraction from learning and do not follow guidelines set forth by the CBE. Unfortunately, we will have to send them home to you without sharing them, should they arrive at the school.
Any special request for an event involving treats will be communicated and require permission.
Upcoming in September
